Senate (finally) advances health bill
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid managed to hold his caucus together in order to get the 60 votes necessary to simply open debate on the Senate version of the health care reform bill. Unfortunately, several of the “moderate” Democrats who got on board have already said they won’t accept a final bill with a public option… Who knows what will happen. For now, it’s been brought to the floor and they are hoping to finish by Christmas. Let’s hope it does get done this year. It’s been long enough already.
