- Posh looks to continue his perfect home record
- Kwame Poku might be fit to return
- Lincoln undefeated this season
This game comes too soon for Joel Randall after he fell on his shoulder in training ahead of the Plymouth game.
There could, however, be a first game of the season for Poku after a calf injury. MaCann and his physios will make a late call but he looks certain to be involved on Tuesday against Steveage.
Peterborough United manager Grant McCann insists his side must repeat their Sheffield Wednesday standards to get the better of Lincoln City at Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
Posh is second, but Lincoln can boast something Posh can’t.
They are currently unbeaten after seeing off Doncaster in the EFL Cup and drawing 3 and winning one of their league games.
Doncaster 0-3 Lincoln (Cup)
It is certainly the first time that a Peterborough United match has been refereed by a woman.
Rebecca Welch is the woman with the whistle.
She made history in 2021 by becoming the first woman to be appointed as a referee for an EFL – Harrogate vs Port Vale match.
She is on the FIFA and UEFA Women’s Elite List and has refereed wonen international matches in the past.
Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has dismissed claims by the former Peterborough United manager that a lack of investment was to blame for last season’s relegation.
Posh started well despite a miss at Plymouth. They are aiming for a 5th victory in six games.
A win today would be Posh’s 5th and reaching that mark last year took until December 11.
Posh has won two and drawn one of the last 3 times he hosted Lincoln. The Imps’ last win at London Road was in December 2006.
