The Newcastle United Blog | New date set for Palace game as two more encounters postponed
Newcastle’s postponed game against Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park has been rescheduled and will now take place on Wednesday, April 20 at 7:45 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for this weekend but was postponed as Crystal Palace reached the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Two other home games have also been moved for television. The trip from Leicester City to St. James’ Park has been pushed back a day to Sunday April 17 at 2.15pm. The start of the Liverpool match has been moved to 12:30 p.m.
Here’s a look at Newcastle’s 10 remaining games for this season.
|March 17: 7:45 p.m.||Everton (A)|
|April 3: 4:30 p.m.||Spurs (A)|
|April 8: 8 p.m.||Wolves (H)|
|April 17: 2:15 p.m.||Leicester (H)|
|April 20: 7:45 p.m.||Palace (H)|
|April 23: 3 p.m.||Norwich (A)|
|April 30: 12:30 p.m.||Liverpool (H)|
|May 7: 3 p.m.||Manchester City (A)|
|May 15: 3 p.m.||Arsenal (H)|
|May 22: 4 p.m.||Burnley (A)|
Newcastle have the all-important game at Everton on Thursday before sailing to Dubai for a warm-weather training. The two-week plus break comes at a good time with the team facing some fitness issues.
April looks like a brutal month, so picking up a win at Goodison Park will take some of the heat out of some of these matches. A win would move Newcastle to 34 points and just two wins clear of the magic 40 point barrier.
Newcastle have also released images of Callum Wilson back at the facilities. The striker has been out to receive specialist treatment on his calf. He can hopefully play a part in the home stretch of this campaign.
