The season so far…

The Derby Under-23s have played 20 games so far this season in Premier League 2 – Division 1 and have recorded four wins, three draws and 13 losses.

Their latest outing saw them claim a hard-earned point against Leicester City at Moor Farm training ground last Sunday as the East Midlands clash ended in a 0-0 draw.

They are five points from safety, after strong form towards the end of 2021 to put them in contention to move out of the bottom two, but are yet to claim a league victory in 2022 to date.

Blackburn, meanwhile, are 12th in the Premier League 2 – Division 1 table and sit directly outside the bottom two, so a win for the Rams would see them move within two points of their opponents.

Derby were 6-0 winners when the sides met at Loughborough University Stadium in November.

Forward Jack Stretton scored a hat-trick in the match, while fellow countryman Luke Plange scored.

Defender Eiran Cashin also put his name on the scoresheet against ten-man Rovers, who had Harry Leonard sent off in the first half.
